Slim Sandy has played in bands for over 30 years, and was the original drummer for Ray Condo, and the lead singer and guitarist with the Crazy Rhythm Daddies. In 2012 Slim formed the Hillbilly Boppers, playing roots music from western swing to hillbilly boogie; he’s joined by Willa Mae, who plays washtub bass (and sings songs by Charlene Arthur, Memphis Minnie and more), as well as drummers Soda Pop, or Rad Juli! Slim and the Hillbilly Boppers have played festivals such as RIFFLANDIA, in Victoria, BC, in 2017 and 2018, Fernfest in Victoria, BC, in 2016, 2018, and 2019, Red Hot and Blue in Ontario, 2018, SCREAMIN in Spain, 2018, ROCKIN HILLBILLY, in Spain, 2018, ROCKIN AROUND TURNHOUT, in Belgium, 2017, GOOD ROCKIN TONIGHT, in France, 2016, the Waldorf Rock ‘n’ Roll Weekend, in Germany, 2016, and the Rockabilly Ball in Seattle in 2012

Slim Sandy’s past bands
Ray Condo and His Hardrock Goners style was described as an energetic blend of rockabilly, blues, honky tonk, and Western swing. They made five albums, eight music videos, played at the Hemsby Weekender in England in 1992, and 1993, and toured Europe in 1994.
Slim helped form the Crazy Rhythm Daddies, influenced by western swing artists like Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, and Milton Brown & His Brownies; they also played the Hemsby Rock’n’ Roll Weekender, and the Montreal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals.
In 2003 Slim Sandy started playing as a one-man band, and played festivals like Good Rockin Tonight, in France, 2010, Viva Las Vegas, in 2008, High Rockabilly in Spain, 2007.
